Test Background
The mechanical property test of fiber-reinforced plastics can produce fiber-wound reinforced plastic annular specimens, and measure the interlaminar shear strength, tensile strength, tensile elastic modulus, and fiber tensile strength of the fiber-wound reinforced plastic annular specimens.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has reliability testing capabilities for various fiber-reinforced plastics and provides professional mechanical property testing services for fiber-wound reinforced plastics.
Scope of tests
Commonly used fiber-reinforced plastics include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET) and other high-molecular polymers and high-purity natural wood, as well as some man-made fibers (cellulose fibers), glass-reinforced resins and metal fibers.
It can be divided into three categories according to its molding methods: thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin, and polycarbonate.
Test method
1. Sample preparation: The sample is made by single-ring winding method or cylinder cutting method. These two methods can be wet winding or pre-impregnation winding. When making performance comparisons, the same method should be used. 2. Shear test: Apply load to the sample evenly and continuously, and record the failure load. If the specimen undergoes non-interlaminar shear failure such as bending or extrusion, the specimen will be discarded. It must be ensured that there are no less than 9 valid samples in the same batch.
3. Tensile test: Mount the sample on the tension plate. The scribed area of the sample should be aligned with the gap of the tension plate, and the contact surface between the sample and the plate should be lubricated. Apply load to the specimen evenly and continuously until failure, and record the failure load.
