Test Background
Hard rubber is a hard material made by adding sulfur and other additives to rubber and vulcanizing it. Due to the action of a large amount of vulcanizing agent, it has a high hardness. The hard rubber tensile test can determine the tensile strength and elongation at break of hard rubber.

Scope of tests
Hard rubber is mostly used to make hoses, glue sticks, rubber plates, partitions and battery cases. In addition, it is also widely used as protective equipment, insulating gloves, insulating rubber boots, etc.
Test method
1. Measurement of sample size: Use a measuring instrument accurate to 0.02 mm to measure the thickness and width of the sample at the marking line and its middle, and take the minimum value of the width and thickness of the sample. When the tensile elongation at break needs to be measured, a reference marker and marker base should be used to mark two parallel lines with a spacing of 75 mm on the narrow part of the specimen, so that the two lines are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the specimen and equidistant from the center.
2. Place the specimen into the holder and carefully adjust it symmetrically so that the tensile force on the specimen is evenly distributed across the cross section. Use an appropriate constant-speed moving gripper to apply tensile force to the sample until it breaks. Record the maximum tensile force in Newton (N).
3. When applying load, it should be noted that the marker continuously records the measured gauge length on the sample, so that the measured gauge length can be recorded at the moment of breaking, accurate to 0.2 mm.
