Mechanical properties test of building gypsum

Mechanical properties test of building gypsum-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Architectural gypsum is a white and fine powder that is generally suitable for interior decoration, plastering, and painting. Mechanical properties refer to the mechanical characteristics displayed by materials when they are subjected to various external loads (tension, compression, bending, torsion, impact, alternating stress, etc.) in different environments (temperature, medium, humidity). The mechanical property test of building gypsum can measure the flexural strength, compressive strength and gypsum hardness of building azurite.
Zhongke Testing and Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various building materials, products and components, and provides professional mechanical performance testing services for building gypsum.

Scope of tests

Paper gypsum, fiber gypsum, cloth gypsum, decorative gypsum, perforated gypsum for sound absorption, gypsum hollow strips, gypsum powder and other building gypsum.

Test method

1. Determination of flexural strength:
Three test specimens are used for the test. Place the test piece on the two support rods of the flexural testing machine, and the molded surface of the test piece should stand sideways. Each edge of the specimen should be kept perpendicular to each roller, and the loading roller should be kept equidistant from the two support rollers. After starting the flexural testing machine, the load was gradually increased until the specimen finally broke. Record the fracture load value or flexural strength value of the specimen.
2. Determination of compressive strength:
Tests were conducted on three half-section specimens from different specimens that had completed the flexural test. Stand the molded surface of the specimen on its side and place it in the compression clamp, and make the center of the compression clamp on the axis of the upper and lower splints to ensure that the axis of the upper splint passes through the center of the pressure surface of the specimen. Start the compression testing machine so that the specimen is destroyed within 20 s to 40 s after starting to load.
Calculate the average compressive strength of the three specimens, accurate to 0.05 MPa.
3. Determination of gypsum hardness:
Place the steel ball on the specimen, measure the depth of the ball mark under a fixed load, and calculate the gypsum hardness of the specimen.

Test standard:

GB/T 17669.3-1999 Construction gypsum - Determination of mechanical properties
