Compressive strength test of synthetic stone

Compressive strength test of synthetic stone-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Compressive strength is the maximum compressive stress that a specimen endures during a compression test until it breaks (brittle materials) or yields (non-brittle materials). The size of the compressive strength indicates the hardness of the synthetic stone. The Synthetic Stone Compressive Strength Test determines the compressive strength of synthetic stone.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability of various synthetic stones and provides professional compressive strength testing and other reliability testing services for synthetic stone products.

Scope of tests

According to the binder material of synthetic stone, it is classified: cement synthetic stone, resin type synthetic stone, composite synthetic stone;
According to the aggregate classification of synthetic stone: synthetic stone composed of marble (or calcium) synthetic stone, quartz (or siliceous) synthetic stone, marble or other calcareous synthetic stone, quartz, quartz sand, granite, porphyry and other siliceous stones, synthetic stone made of other stone materials (such as dolomite, serpentine, calcite, etc.).

Test method

The dry sample is placed in the center of the workbench with a ball-and-socket structure leveling function on the testing machine, and is subjected to uniaxial pressure in the up and down direction, and a uniformly distributed load is applied until the sample is destroyed.
1. Measure
Measure the size of the force-bearing surface of the specimen, measure the side length (l) of the force-bearing cross section of the cubic specimen, and measure the diameter (d) of the cylindrical specimen. Measure the upper and lower sides twice, take the average of the measurement results, accurate to 0.1 mm, and calculate the cross-sectional area (A) of the sample.
2. Place sample
Wipe the stress surface of the sample and the surface of the upper and lower pressure heads of the testing machine clean, then place the sample in the center of the testing machine workbench, and adjust the surface of the upper and lower pressure heads of the testing machine to make even contact with the stress surface of the sample.
3. Load
Continuously apply load to the sample at a uniform rate of (1±0.5) MPa/s until complete destruction. Record the load when the specimen fails, with an accuracy of not less than 1 kN.
