Geological instrument crash test

Geological instrument crash test-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Crash testing is mainly applicable to components, equipment and other products that may be affected by repeated collisions during transportation and use. The purpose is to determine the adaptability of components, equipment and other products to repeated mechanical collisions during use and transportation and to evaluate their structural integrity. At the same time, crash testing can also be used as a means of satisfactory product design and quality control.
The purpose of the geological instrument collision test is to determine the adaptability to withstand repeated collisions during use and transportation and to evaluate the structural integrity. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various geological instrument products, and provides professional collision test services for geological instrument products.

Test method

1. Calibration of the test bench: Use a simulated object that approximates the weight of the product under test and a collision bench to calibrate the collision bench to meet the specified test conditions.
2. Place the product under test under normal atmospheric conditions for at least 1 hour to allow it to reach temperature stability; then conduct appearance inspection, mechanical performance and electrical performance testing of the product under test in accordance with product technical standards (technical conditions).
3. Installation of the product under test: The product under test is firmly fixed on the test bench. When the transportation and installation methods are known, and the maximum force of the collision is along the vertical direction, the test shall be installed in that direction; when there are more than two installation positions, the test shall be carried out separately in axial directions perpendicular to each other.
4. Conditional test
1) The product under test is placed in a non-working state and tested according to regulations. An intermediate inspection of the product under test should be conducted during the test to observe whether the product has failed. If failure is found, the test should be stopped immediately.
2) During the collision process, if necessary, sensors, accelerometers or oscilloscopes can be installed at appropriate locations on the product under test to monitor the test process.
5. Final measurement After the test, remove the tested product and place it under normal atmospheric conditions for 1 hour. According to the technical standards (technical conditions) of the product, the tested product is first visually inspected. There should be no damage to the appearance, no cracks or deformations in the mechanical structure, no loose fasteners, and no falling off of components and parts. Then, the mechanical and electrical properties of the tested product are tested, and the results should comply with the provisions of the product technical standards (technical conditions).
