Pigment dry powder heat resistance test can evaluate the heat resistance by comparing the color difference of the pigment dry powder after a specified time at a certain temperature with the original color.

Scope of tests
1. According to the chemical composition of pigments, they can be divided into two categories: inorganic pigments and organic pigments. According to their sources, they can be divided into natural pigments and synthetic pigments.
2. Pigments are classified according to their function, such as anti-rust pigments, magnetic pigments, luminescent pigments, pearlescent pigments, conductive pigments, etc.
3. From the perspective of production and manufacturing, it can be classified into titanium pigments, iron pigments, chromium pigments, lead pigments, zinc pigments, metallic pigments, and organic synthetic pigments.
4. From the perspective of application, it can be classified into paint pigments, ink pigments, plastic pigments, rubber pigments, ceramic and enamel pigments, pharmaceutical and cosmetic pigments, art pigments, etc.
Test method
1. Heat resistance measurement
Adjust the oven or box resistance furnace to the desired test temperature. When the test temperature is below 200 ℃, every interval of 20 ℃ is a step. Above 200 ℃, every 50 ℃ interval is a step. Quickly place the crucible containing 2.5 g of pigment powder into an oven or box-shaped resistance furnace.
Calculate the time after reaching the specified heat-resistant temperature. After half an hour, take it out and put it in a desiccator and cool it to room temperature. According to the provisions of HG/T 3854-2006 "Determination of Pigment Fluidity", prepare the color paste of the sample and the non-heat-resistant sample respectively.
2. Evaluation method
Use an ink-adjusting knife to pick out a small amount of color paste from the sample and the non-heat-resistant sample, and apply it on the pictorial printing paper. The parallel distance between the two color pastes is about 15 mm, and scrape it off evenly with a scraper.
Under diffused light, immediately observe the color's hue changes. The first temperature that does not change color is the heat-resistant temperature of the sample.
