The main impacts of the marine environment on mechanical products include: metals are severely corroded by salt spray and seawater; the combined effects of moisture and salt spray can easily cause a reduction in the insulation level of electrical equipment; when attacked by strong typhoons, there are also large vibrations, impacts, and swings during navigation and operation.
Therefore, after the mechanical products used in ships and offshore facilities, docks and ports pass the basic performance test, necessary environmental test items should be selected based on the degree to which various products are affected by marine environmental factors, and artificial simulated environmental tests should be conducted on the products.
