The main impacts of the plateau environment on mechanical products are: the power of internal combustion engine-powered machinery decreases due to high altitude; difficulty in starting at low temperatures on the plateau; changes in fuel ignition conditions due to turbulence in plateau environments such as hypoxia and low air pressure; and the cooling effect of the plateau environment is reduced.
Therefore, after the mechanical products used in plateau areas pass the basic performance test, corresponding environmental test items should be selected based on the sensitivity of various products to the influence of the plateau environment, and artificial simulation (or on-site) environmental tests should be conducted on the products.
