A heavy industry enterprise of the applicant signed a "CNC Hot Die Forging Press Purchase Contract" with a machine tool company of the respondent, agreeing to purchase two pieces of equipment with a nominal pressure of 2,500 tons for automobile crankshaft forging. After being put into production, the forgings had defects such as excessive flash (≥2mm) and surface folding, resulting in customer returns. The heavy industry enterprise believed that the equipment had design defects and demanded compensation for losses. The machine tool company argued that the problem stemmed from improper operation, and both parties went to court.

Identification analysis results:

The quality analysis expert group discussed and comprehensively analyzed the relevant information of "CNC forging equipment", contract technical agreements, on-site investigation case materials and other data, and made the following quality analysis opinions:

1, the body material of the CNC forging equipment involved is Q235 steel (contract requirements) Q345B), the yield strength is only 235MPa (standard ≥345MPa), resulting in frame deformation; the mold material is 42CrMo (contract requirement H13), the quenching hardness is HRC48 (standard ≥HRC52), and the wear resistance is insufficient.
