Marine Tail Shaft Quality Appraisal-Machinery & Equipment-CAS Testing Technical Services (Hong Kong) Company Limited

Marine Tail Shaft QualityAppraisal Background

Ship stern shaft quality appraisal is a professional evaluation and testing of the quality of ship stern shafts and related components to determine whether they meet ship safety and performance standards. The tail shaft is a rotating shaft that connects the propeller and the ship's power system. Its quality directly affects the navigation safety and efficiency of the ship. Quality qualification usually includes comprehensive inspection and testing of tailshaft materials, manufacturing processes, installation quality, and in-service condition.
In actual cases, if a ship has problems such as oil leakage, water leakage or abnormal noise from the tail shaft during navigation, the cause of the problem and the responsible party can be determined through quality appraisal, providing a basis for repair or replacement.
In the case of ship tail shaft quality appraisal, Zhongke Testing can provide ship tail shaft quality appraisal services.

Marine Tail Shaft QualityAuthentication case

quality product dispute situation:
According to the information provided by the client, in August 2017, the supplier delivered the ship involved to the demander. After about 3 to 4 months of sailing, the buyer discovered that there was oil and water leakage at the tail shaft of the ship involved, accompanied by obvious abnormal noise, and it was impossible to continue sailing.
After the demander notified the supplier of the above situation, the supplier did not repair the tail shaft system. On June 4, 2018, the purchaser entrusted XX Shipping Development Co., Ltd. to repair the ship involved. The maintenance party found that the "vessel's tail shaft" involved had serious oil leakage. Due to uneven operation, there were severe signs of wear on the "vessel's tail shaft" and the parts that fixed the tail shaft had been deformed. The tail shaft and bearings were finally replaced, and the propeller was intact. The supplier believes that the ship involved does not have quality defects, and the water and oil leakage of the ship may be caused by natural wear and tear or improper use by the buyer.
Therefore, the demander applied to identify whether there are quality problems in the tail shaft part of the ship involved that would lead to oil and water leakage from the cargo ship.
quality analysis results: The
appraisal expert group discussed and comprehensively technical analyzed the relevant information, on-site investigation and measurement data of the "ship's tail shaft" involved in the case, and made the following appraisal opinion:
's "ship's tail shaft" involved in the case had serious wear and tear quality problems, resulting in oil and water leakage problems on cargo ships.
