Common formaldehyde release detection methods include perforation method, dryer method, climate chamber method and gas analysis method:
perforation method : perforation extraction method is a method for measuring human body temperature. The traditional method for measuring the free formaldehyde content in panels was proposed in Europe and adopted in my country. The principle is to use toluene to extract formaldehyde from the test piece through liquid-solid extraction, and then perform liquid-liquid extraction of formaldehyde and water through a perforator, so that the formaldehyde in toluene is dissolved in water again, and then measured in an aqueous solution.
Dryer method: A standard method used to test the formaldehyde emission of artificial boards. At a certain temperature, put a test piece with a known surface area into a desiccator. The formaldehyde released by the test piece is absorbed by a certain volume of water, and the formaldehyde content in the water is measured within 24 hours.

0 Climate chamber method
1: Place a sample with a surface area of 1m3 into a climate chamber where the temperature, relative humidity, air flow rate and air replacement rate are controlled at certain values. Formaldehyde is released from the sample and mixed with the air in the box. The air in the box is extracted regularly. The extracted air is passed through an absorption bottle filled with distilled water. All formaldehyde in the air is dissolved into the water. The amount of formaldehyde in the absorption solution and the volume of the extracted air are measured, and the amount of formaldehyde in the air per cubic meter is calculated, expressed in milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3).

3 Gas analysis method
4: Place a specimen with a known surface area in a closed detection room where the temperature, humidity, airflow and pressure are all controlled at given values. The formaldehyde released from the test piece mixes with the air in the testing room. Gas is continuously extracted from the detection chamber and passed through a gas wash bottle containing distilled water for absorbing formaldehyde. At the end of the test, the formaldehyde concentration is measured photometrically. Calculate the formaldehyde release amount using the measured concentration, sampling time, and exposure area of the test piece, expressed in mg/(m2.h).
