Test Background

Plastics have properties such as light weight, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, impact resistance, tensile resistance, bending resistance, thermal insulation and energy saving. However, plastics are organic materials and have various shortcomings, such as low mechanical strength, hardness, and poor antistatic properties. Therefore, in the production process of plastics, these performance shortcomings can be improved by adding various additives.
The plastic sliding friction test can determine the sliding friction properties of plastics and their composite materials. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various plastics and provides professional sliding friction testing services for plastics and related products.

Scope of tests

Plastics and composite materials are classified according to their chemical composition. Commonly used plastics include polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), polyamide (PA), etc.

Test method

Install the sample to the testing machine. The sample is installed above the test ring and a load is applied. The sample remains stationary and the test ring rotates at a certain speed.
