Slit tear test of coated fabrics

Slit tear test of coated fabrics-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Fabric coating, as the name suggests, is to apply a layer of other materials on the surface of the fabric. This also shows that fabric coating has two processing objects - base fabric, coating material, and the technology that combines the two - coating technology. The seam tear strength refers to the maximum tearing force that the sample can withstand against sewing needle holes under specified conditions. The seam tear test of coated fabrics can determine its seam tear performance.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various coated fabrics and provides professional seam tear test services for coated fabrics.

Scope of tests

PA coating, PU coating, anti-velvet coating, PA white glue coating, PU white glue coating, PA silver glue coating, PU silver glue coating, pearlescent coating, flame retardant coating, etc.

Test method

Cut a slit of a specified size on the strip sample, place one end of the sample with the slit into the slot test clamp of the tensile tester, and insert a flat needle piece of the specified size into the slit hole of the sample. The other end of the sample is vertically clamped into the jaws of another holder, apply tension along the length of the sample, and record the strength of the sample when it is torn by the needle piece.

Test standard:

FZ/T 75008-2018 Coated fabrics - Test method for seam tear performance
GB/T 6529 Textiles Standard atmosphere for humidity conditioning and testing
FZ/T 01003 Test method for thickness of coated fabrics
