Test Background
Asphalt waterproof membrane refers to traditional waterproof membrane, which is a low-grade waterproof membrane. Asphalt waterproofing membrane is made of base paper, fiber felt and other matrix materials dipped in asphalt, and powdery, granular or sheet materials are spread on the surface to make a rollable sheet-like waterproofing material. Flexibility refers to the ability of asphalt waterproofing membrane specimens to bend without cracks at specified temperatures.
The low-temperature flexibility test of asphalt waterproofing membranes can determine the low-temperature flexibility performance of asphalt waterproofing membranes. Scope of tests
According to different manufacturing methods, it is divided into two types: impregnated membrane (with tires) and rolled membrane (without tires).
The former is made by impregnating and coating asphalt with raw paper or glass cloth, fabric and other tire materials, and then sprinkling spreading materials (talcum powder, fine sand, mica powder, etc.) on the surface; the latter is made by mixing asbestos, rubber powder, etc. into asphalt and rolling it.
Test method
The upper and lower surfaces of the test piece cut from the sample are bent 180° around a mechanical bending device immersed in the freezing liquid. After bending, check the coating layer of the specimen for cracks.
