Dimensional stability test of rigid foam plastics

Dimensional stability test of rigid foam plastics-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Rigid foam plastics refer to foam plastics that have no flexibility, high compression hardness, can deform when the stress reaches a certain value, and cannot return to their original shape after the stress is relieved. They can be used as thermal insulation materials, sandwich materials, packaging materials, sound insulation and earthquake-proof materials, building materials, etc.
Dimensional stability refers to the irreversible dimensional changes in the mutually perpendicular three-dimensional directions after the sample is placed under specific temperature and relative humidity conditions for a certain period of time. The rigid foam dimensional stability test determines the dimensional stability of rigid foam under specific temperature and relative humidity conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various rigid foam plastics and provides professional dimensional stability testing services for rigid foam plastics.

Scope of tests

Rigid foam plastics mainly include: polystyrene foam, phenolic foam, polycarbonate foam, epoxy foam, rigid polyvinyl chloride, most polyolefin foams and some polyurethane foams.

Test method

The sample is placed under the specified test conditions for a certain period of time, and after state adjustment in the standard environment, the changes in its linear dimensions are measured.

Test standard:

GB/T 8811-2008 Rigid foam plastics Dimensional stability test method
ISO 2796: 1986 Dimensional stability test method for rigid foam plastics
GB/T 2918-1998 Standard environment for conditioning and testing of plastic specimens
GB/T 6342-1996 Foam plastics and rubber - Determination of linear dimensions
