Test Background
Rubbing resistance refers to the material's ability to withstand bending (flexion) and pressure deformation, and maintain its performance stability after the external force is removed. The artificial leather rub resistance test can determine the rub resistance of artificial leather, synthetic leather and its products.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various artificial leathers and synthetic leathers, and provides professional rubbing resistance testing services for artificial leathers.
Scope of tests
1. Classification according to the synthetic resin used: polyvinyl chloride artificial leather, polyamide artificial leather, polyolefin artificial leather, polyurethane artificial leather.
2. Classified by base material: cotton cloth-based artificial leather, synthetic fiber-based artificial leather and fiber-based artificial leather.
3. Classification by production method: direct coating and scraping method artificial leather, transfer coating and scraping method artificial leather, calendering and laminating method artificial leather, extrusion laminating method artificial leather, rotary screen coating method artificial leather, wet method artificial leather.
4. Classification by use: Artificial leather can be divided into two categories: civil use and industrial use.
Civilian leather includes: leather for shoe covers, leather for clothes, leather for boxes, straw for bags, leather for handbags, leather for gloves and carts, straw for furniture, etc. Industrial leather includes: vehicle leather, floor leather, etc.
Test method
1. Place the same surfaces of the two specimens overlapping each other and install them into the specimen clamp; adjust the specimen holder so that the distance between the left and right clamps is (30±0.5) mm; adjust the distance between the left and right clamps until the sample is at a 90° angle and close to the left and right clamps; adjust the horizontal direction. Load the sample to (9.8±0.1) N or the agreed load; set the number of times of rubbing under the conditions of frequency of (120±3) times/min and stroke of (50±2) mm; when the set number of times of rubbing is reached, stop the test and remove the sample.
2. Remove the sample and visually observe its surface condition for cracks, damage, separation of base fabric and coating, etc.
