Low temperature brittleness test of vulcanized rubber

Low temperature brittleness test of vulcanized rubber-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Most vulcanized rubber is often used in low-temperature environments, such as automobile sealing strips, rubber waterstops, isolation rubber bearings, sealing rings, etc. Reliable data must be available on the characteristics and low-temperature brittleness of vulcanized rubber. The low-temperature brittleness test of vulcanized rubber can determine the lowest temperature at which vulcanized rubber will not undergo brittle failure when subjected to impact under specified conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers and provides professional low-temperature brittleness testing services for vulcanized rubber.

Scope of tests

In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, roller coatings, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.

Test method

Single sample method: Use a single sample brittleness temperature testing machine to measure the brittleness temperature of vulcanized rubber and determine whether the vulcanized rubber will be damaged after being impacted at a specified temperature. It includes two procedures:
Procedure A is suitable for determining the brittleness temperature;
Procedure B is suitable for impacting the sample at the specified temperature to determine whether damage occurs.
