Test Principle
Use a thorn cone to vertically pierce the circular sample clamped on the ring clamp at a constant speed, and record the force required to pierce the coated fabric.
Test method
1. Clamp the sample in the ring clamp, with the surface to be measured facing the thorn cone.
2. Connect the thorn cone and ring clamp to the upper and lower holders of the testing machine respectively to ensure that the thorn cone is perpendicular to the surface of the sample. The length direction of the flat end of the thorn cone is 45°, 90° or 180° with the longitudinal direction of the specimen.
3. Adjust the speed of the testing machine to (500±50) mm/min or (300±15) mm/min, with (500±50) mm/min being preferred.
4. Start the testing machine and record the maximum force value when the thorn cone completely penetrates the coated fabric.
