Accident situation:
One morning, an accidental dump piled in the open air in an industrial park in City A suddenly exploded. The explosion's shock wave carried burning debris, broke through the glass window and passed through the processing workshop, igniting the magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy stored in the scrap warehouse, causing a fire in the scrap recycling warehouse. The fire was under control at 13:30 and basically extinguished at 14:30. There were no casualties on site.
Identification entrustment matters:
In order to clarify the cause of the explosion of a pile of materials involved in a fire accident, the A City Emergency Management Bureau entrusted our company to identify the cause of the explosion of the "accident piles" involved in a fire.
Appraisal Opinion:
The accident analysis expert group discussed and conducted a comprehensive quality and technical analysis of the on-site investigation and inspection of the "stack" involved, and made the following recommendations and conclusions:
1. The main components of "accidental piles" are magnesium-aluminum alloy chips and aluminum chips, which are dangerous chemicals and goods that are flammable, explosive, and burn when exposed to moisture. They are piled in the open air without any protective measures and do not comply with the relevant storage regulations of the "Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals" and GB The relevant storage requirements of 15603-1995 "General Rules for the Storage of Commonly Used Chemical Hazardous Goods" were the main reason for the explosion of the pile in the fire accident.
2. The weather at the time of the incident was more likely to form morning dew. In addition, there was water vapor around the accident pile (evaporation of water discharged from the air compression system and air conditioning condensate water discharged when the air conditioner was running, as well as evaporation of water vapor in the cement floor), which increased the humidity of the surrounding air and caused dew to condense on the surface of the pile. This should be the direct cause of the explosion of the accident pile.
