The appraisal analysis expert group discussed the relevant information and on-site investigation of the heat exchanger involved in the case and made a comprehensive quality and technical analysis, and made the following suggestions and conclusions:
1. The design structure of the heat exchanger involved in the case is unreasonable.
The welding of the expansion joint and the lower tube plate and the lower cylinder and the lower tube plate is structurally discontinuous, resulting in a large stress concentration coefficient. Non-destructive testing cannot be performed here, and the welding quality cannot be guaranteed. The outer diameter of the lower cylinder of
2 and the heat exchanger involved in the case is of poor manufacturing quality. According to the drawing, the outer diameter of the lower cylinder should be 1124 mm, but the actual size is 1133 mm, an increase of 9mm. The only way is to force the end of the cylinder to bend inward (the maximum deviation is 8.5 mm), and then weld it flush with the edge of the tube plate, resulting in forced assembly.
