A shelf collapsed in a factory and dozens of tons of goods fell, causing injuries to many employees. The manufacturer believed that the cause of the accident was shelf quality issues and communicated with the shelf supplier. However, the shelf supplier believed that there was no problem with the quality of the shelves, so both parties entrusted our company to evaluate the steel shelves.
appraisal experts went to the site to survey the environment and found that the warehouse was relatively humid. Then check the fracture opening and other locations of the broken shelf, and find that there are continuous fractures at the safety pin socket, and some safety pins have signs of loosening. After the initial judgment, the expert team conducts further laboratory testing. Based on the test results, the final identification conclusion was drawn:
1. The warehouse has high humidity. After being in this environment for a long time, the shelves have been partially rusted and the strength has decreased;
2. There are also parts between the safety pins and the jacks that are not fastened enough, which is also the reason for the collapse of the shelves;
3. The goods in this warehouse are relatively random, and some goods are stacked too high, which can easily lead to tilting and collapse, posing safety hazards;
4. These reasons combined led to this accident.
